No fewer than three persons have been abducted on Saturday in two villages in Imeko-Afon local government area of Ogun State.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the three victims; a farmer, a businesswoman and her daughter were kidnapped by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the council  .

PLATFORM TIMES learnt that the farmer identified as Ikanlu Jimoh was first abducted on his farm while planting tomatoes on Saturday morning.

The woman, identified as Mujidat Otefila and her daughter were abducted in their residence same day in the evening.

While Jimoh was kidnapped in his farm, Otefile and her daughter were taken away by the kidnappers who had laid ambush for them as they drove into their compound .

A resident who pleaded anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the matter said the kidnappers were three and wore masks during the operation.

The source said Jimoh was abducted on Saturday morning at Saparu Village at Isale Oha Village in Imeko-Afon.

Jimoh  was however abandoned by the kidnappers after the villagers stormed the bush and rescued him.

According to the source “one of her daughters came down from the vehicle to open the gate of the house. The kidnappers suddenly appeared from their hiding place in the compound, descended on her, dragged her back into car and forced the woman to drive to the outskirt of the community where the vehicle and the daughter were abandoned.

“The incident happened around 9.50pm on Saturday. They have used the woman’s phone number to call the family that they will talk to the family later.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Omolola Odutola confirmer the incidents .

Odutola said ” the Kidnappers fled when they heard sounds of motorcycles used to chase after them and we later found the victim tied up where he was abandoned and he was rescued.

“There is network challenge but the synergy with the Vigilante and Amoteku is working.
