A heavy downpour has cut off the road leading to Ayeh Gbede, an agrarian community in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

President of Ayeh Gbede Development Union, Comrade Waheed Sikiru made this known to DAILY POST on Thursday morning.

Sikiru said three portions of the road from Okoro Gbede had been washed away.

“The heavy downpour has completely cut off the road and farmers are now finding it difficult to convey their goods to the market.

“We are appealing to the Government to come to our aid before things get out of hand. Our people are suffering because of the deplorable State of this road,” he noted.

He called on the member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Salman Idris, lawmaker representing Kogi West, Senator Sunday Karimi and public spirited individuals to assist Ayeh Gbede community.
