The National Emergency Management Agency has distributed relief items to victims of windstorms in the Ijumu and Lokoja Local Government Areas of Kogi State.
The affected communities,were ; Iyara, Ayetoro, Agbaja, and Jamata in both LGAs, were affected by a windstorm that destroyed houses in March.
The Director-General, NEMA, Mr Mustapha Ahmed, disclosed this on Monday.
The DG, who was represented by the Head, Abuja Operations Office, Mr Justin Uwazuruonye, said the distribution was done in collaboration with the Kogi Emergency Management Agency.
While commiserating with the people and government of Kogi over the unfortunate incident, he said the items were meant to cushion the effect of the incident.
He said the items distributed included foodstuffs, such as bags of rice, bags of beans, vegetable oil, tomato paste and spaghetti.
Also distributed were mattresses, blankets, and nylon mats, clothing for men, women, and children, buckets, cooking pots, stoves, plates, spoons, and cups.
