Veteran Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, is currently under scrutiny by aviation authorities following a disruptive incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, which led to the suspension of two ValueJet pilots.
According to findings by PLATFORM TIMES, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed on Wednesday that the musician spilled alcohol on an aviation security officer during a confrontation over a restricted item he attempted to board with — a flask containing alcohol.
The incident, which occurred on August 5, 2025, reportedly escalated when Ayinde refused multiple directives to surrender the liquid, claiming it was medication.
Despite explanations on aviation laws prohibiting liquids exceeding 100ml onboard — unless medically necessary and declared — the artist allegedly declined to comply.
FAAN explained that after being asked to step aside for clarification, Ayinde spilled the contents of the flask, later confirmed to be alcohol, on an airline security officer. Attempts by the flight captain to intervene also met with resistance.
After the aircraft door was closed for departure, the musician proceeded to the front of the plane, reportedly trying to obstruct its take-off — a move captured in a viral video showing ground personnel interacting with him near the aircraft’s wing.
Sources told PLATFORM TIMES that the flight, despite the chaos, proceeded to take off without following due pre-departure protocols, prompting the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to suspend the pilots involved for violating safety regulations.
“This reckless action endangered the safety of ground personnel and other airport users, contravening established civil aviation regulations and international safety standards,” the NCAA said in a statement.
FAAN warned that it would not tolerate any act that compromises operational integrity or endangers aviation safety.
The authority noted that investigations were ongoing and pledged to hold all parties accountable according to the law.
Meanwhile, the NCAA is reportedly considering placing Ayinde on a no-fly list — a move that could severely impact his domestic and international engagements.
A no-fly list typically bars individuals deemed to pose a security threat from boarding commercial flights.
