Labour Party Faction Supports Soyinka’s Verdict On Election Loss

In a significant revelation, the Lamidi Apapa-led faction of the Labour Party (LP) has publicly acknowledged its loss in the 2023 Presidential election.

The faction’s spokesperson, Abayomi Arabambi, echoed the sentiment that their Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, and Mr. Julius Abure were well aware of the party’s performance in the election.

This revelation was made in a statement released in Abeokuta, Ogun State’s capital, and comes in support of Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka’s recent comments on Nigeria’s 2023 presidential election.

Arabambi strongly criticized some party members who chose to attack Prof. Soyinka for speaking the truth.

He emphasized the need for the party to introspect and strategize for the 2027 elections rather than engage in baseless disputes.

Arabambi went further to highlight that even Governor Prof. Charles Soludo of Anambra State had previously expressed doubts about Peter Obi’s chances of winning the presidential race.

The party spokesperson questioned the legitimacy of claims made without concrete evidence and pointed out the absence of polling unit result sheets and agents in many polling units.

Arabambi concluded by noting the party’s failure to plan adequately for the 2023 elections, citing poor logistics as a major factor contributing to their defeat.

He lamented that the Labour Party had been reduced to a regional entity under Peter Obi’s leadership, focusing primarily on national officers of Igbo extraction.
