The family of Emmanuel Nwafor, a dedicated photographer struck by a BRT bus in Lagos on February 15, 2025, has issued a heartfelt plea to the Lagos State Government for urgent intervention as he continues to fight for his life at LASU General Hospital.

The tragic incident unfolded at Ileepo Oja in Lagos State while Nwafor was en route to work, preparing to photograph a wedding ceremony.

According to reports, Nwafor was discovered unconscious and abandoned at Ileepo Oja General Hospital on Tuesday, February 18th, after an exhaustive 72-hour search.

Shockingly, the hospital allegedly neglected to provide immediate medical attention.

Subsequently, he was swiftly transferred to LASU General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition under intensive care.

In a distressing turn of events, it was disclosed that Nwafor’s personal belongings, including his mobile phone, were reportedly stolen at the accident scene, compounding the anguish faced by his family during this harrowing time.

Expressing their desperation through Platform Times, the family has implored Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to intervene swiftly and provide necessary support and assistance.

They have highlighted the urgent need for financial aid to offset mounting medical expenses and ensure Nwafor receives the best possible medical care in his fight for survival.

The community and concerned citizens have rallied behind the family, emphasizing the need for improved safety measures and emergency response protocols to prevent such tragedies from recurring on Lagos roads.

As the family awaits crucial developments in Nwafor’s condition, they remain hopeful that their plea will prompt swift action and alleviate their burdens amidst this challenging ordeal.

The Lagos State Government has yet to respond to the family’s appeal, leaving many anxiously awaiting a positive outcome as efforts to support Nwafor’s recovery continue unabated.
