A total of ₦80,950,555,128.17 was disbursed to local government areas (LGAs) across six South-West states in Nigeria in April 2025, according to an investigation by PLATFORM TIMES.
The allocations, sourced from verified BudgIT data, cover LGAs in Lagos, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti States, highlighting disparities in federal resource sharing across the region.
Lagos Tops with ₦34.1bn; Ekiti Gets Least with ₦6.4bn
Leading the chart, Lagos State’s 20 LGAs received a whopping ₦34,129,019,340.83, making it the highest recipient among the six states. At the opposite end, Ekiti’s 16 LGAs got the lowest combined allocation of ₦6,489,106,477.45.
State-by-State Breakdown
Lagos State – ₦34.1bn
With the largest allocation, Lagos saw Alimosho LGA emerge as the top beneficiary nationwide with ₦2.41 billion, while Ibeju-Lekki received the least in the state with ₦1.43 billion. Other high earners include Ajeromi-Ifelodun (₦1.9bn), Kosofe (₦1.88bn), and Mushin (₦1.85bn).
Oyo State – ₦13.7bn
In Oyo, Ibadan North-East received the highest allocation of ₦613.5 million, followed by Ifedapo (₦584.8m) and Ibadan South-West (₦569.7m). Ogo Oluwa got the lowest allocation in the state with ₦402.9 million. However, data for four LGAs including Ibadan North, Oluyole, Ido, and Afijio were unavailable for April 2025.
Osun State – ₦11.3bn
Osun’s 30 LGAs shared ₦11,336,000,000.00, with Ife East receiving the highest at ₦449.6 million and Ifedayo the least with ₦301.9 million.
Ogun State – ₦8.0bn
In Ogun, 18 LGAs received a total of ₦8,001,119,323.87. Ado-Odo/Ota led with ₦729.6 million, while Ogun Waterside recorded the lowest at ₦334.5 million.
Allocation data for Sagamu and Odeda LGAs was unavailable for April.
Ondo State – ₦7.2bn
Ondo’s 16 LGAs shared ₦7,290,041,381.87, with Akure South receiving the highest at ₦585.1 million, and Ondo East the least with ₦338.2 million. Data for Ose and Akure North was outdated.
Ekiti State – ₦6.4bn
Ekiti’s April allocation to 16 LGAs totaled ₦6,489,106,477.45. Ado-Ekiti topped the list with ₦535.9 million, while Ilejemeje recorded the lowest at ₦309.2 million.
