The Lagos State Police Command has taken into custody the renowned musician, Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, for his failure to settle a debt incurred during the purchase of a G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state.

According to reliable sources, Portable acquired the luxury vehicle valued at N27 million but only made a partial payment of N13 million, leaving a substantial balance of N14 million unpaid.

Despite repeated demands from the car dealer to fulfill his financial obligation, Portable allegedly evaded payment by insisting that the vehicle was defective.

As negotiations reached an impasse and Portable continued to default on his debt, the aggrieved car dealer escalated the matter by lodging a formal complaint with the police.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that  law enforcement officers were mobilized to investigate the case, leading to Portable’s arrest.

Confirming the arrest, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, disclosed that Portable was apprehended in connection with the unpaid debt related to the G-Wagon purchase.

Hundeyin stated, “Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought a G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was defective. We arrested him today.”

The arrest of Portable has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, as the musician enjoys widespread popularity for his energetic performances and street anthems.

However, his legal predicament underscores the importance of honoring financial commitments and adhering to contractual agreements in business dealings.
