The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, has been appointed as the new spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, succeeding Deputy Commissioner of Police, Muyiwa Adejobi.
Hundeyin, who has served as the image maker of the Lagos Police Command since March 2022, will now take charge at the Force Headquarters in Abuja as the Force Public Relations Officer.
His predecessor, Adejobi, has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command after years of being the official voice of the Nigeria Police Force.
During his tenure, Adejobi was recognised for his firm communication style and constant engagement with the media on national policing issues.
The transition marks a significant change in the Force’s communication structure, with expectations high on how Hundeyin will bring his Lagos experience to the national stage. Known for his open engagement with journalists and the public in Lagos, he is expected to strengthen the interface between the Force and Nigerians.
Police insiders told PLATFORM TIMES that the redeployment exercise is part of the Force’s routine postings aimed at repositioning the institution for effective service delivery.
Hundeyin, a seasoned police officer and public relations professional, has previously worked with the Police Public Relations Department at Force Headquarters and has attended several local and international trainings on strategic communication.
Adejobi, who now resumes duties in Delta State, is widely regarded as one of the longest-serving police spokespersons at the national level, having overseen numerous high-profile communications for the Force.
The new posting is expected to further enhance the visibility and credibility of the Nigeria Police Force in its engagement with the public.
