The Lagos State Government has decided to temporarily close the Iyana Ipaja Ramp as part of its commitment to advancing the Iyana Ipaja Bus Terminal Project.

The closure is set to take place from Thursday, August 24, 2023, and will extend for a duration of 18 weeks.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Abdulhafiz Toriola , therefore, issued a statement on Wednesday outlining the traffic diversion measures that will be in place to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles during the construction period.

According to the statement, Motorists traveling towards Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway from the Iyana Ipaja bridge will be directed to follow a diversion route via the Alagba intersection.

It added that this route will guide them to the slip road located on the left side of the Alagba roundabout, offering access to the Lagos Abeokuta Expressway.

Also, for the convenience of heavy vehicles originating from Egbeda/Alagutan and destined for Agege or Abule-Egba, an alternate route has been established.

According to the statement, these vehicles will be redirected to the Lagos-bound slip road near Eco bank Roundabout.

This route will lead them to perform a U-turn at Iyana Dopemu, enabling them to continue their journeys as planned.

He therefore urged motorists to bear with the temporary inconvenience caused by the ramp closure.
