Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has named three areas his team need to improve after failing to beat Mallorca in their LaLiga opener on Sunday.

Ancelotti watched as Real Madrid played a 1-1 draw with Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

A first-half goal from Rodrygo and a second-half goal from Vedat Muriqi ensured both teams got a point each.

Speaking to reporters after the game, Ancelotti said the Los Blancos need to improve ‘defensively, winning the ball back and to press after losing the ball.’

“We struggled defensively, we struggled to win the ball back and to press after losing the ball. We have to improve on that,” Ancelotti said.

“When we talk about the defensive performance, we’re talking above all about attitude and collective commitment.”

The Italian added, “Last year I didn’t rotate a lot at the start of the season. When the Champions League returns, I will have more chance to rotate.”
