A leaked audio recording of Fuji icon, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has ignited fresh controversy online after he was heard issuing a stern warning to ValueJet airline owner, Kunle Soname, over an airport altercation.
The recording, now trending on social media, allegedly followed a confrontation between the singer and airline staff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The dispute reportedly began when the pilot allegedly raised concerns about a flask KWAM 1 carried onboard, claiming it contained alcohol.
In the clip, the Fuji star defended himself, insisting the flask held only water, which he needed urgently due to his health condition.
“I am a patient; I needed the water every second. You wouldn’t want to see me shut down… If you are fair, you’ll understand this is my water. Don’t make it a national issue,” he said.
KWAM 1 accused the airline of deliberately preventing him from boarding, alleging that instructions to that effect came directly from Soname. To prove his point, he said he poured out the flask’s contents in public to show it was water.
The 67-year-old entertainer further claimed he had supported Soname’s business interests in the past through his political influence, describing the airline boss as “like a child” to him.
“In government, I guarantee Soname. My name is Wasiu Ayinde; nobody does that with me and gets away with it… Soname will feel it in his business,” KWAM 1 warned in Yoruba during the exchange.
