Educationist Urges Parents to Prioritise Investment in Children’s Education

Lyceum Schools, a group of privately owned educational institutions under the Lyceum Foundation, on Saturday held a colourful graduation ceremony at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, with a strong appeal to parents to increase their investment in their children’s education.

The Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. Adeyinka Ola-Williams, while addressing parents, pupils, and dignitaries at the event, emphasised that spending on children’s education is the most rewarding investment any parent can make.

“No amount of investment in your child’s education is a waste,” he said.

“The best investment you can ever make is giving your child quality and quantitative education. Don’t joke with your children’s future.”

Ola-Williams reaffirmed the commitment of Lyceum Schools—including Lyceum Montessori School, Lyceum College, Lyceum Pre-University, and Lyceum Special School—to providing top-tier educational services.

He also disclosed that the Foundation’s expansion plans to the United Kingdom were underway, with relevant documentation already secured.

He described the graduation as a testament to the institution’s dedication to academic excellence and the holistic development of young learners.

Speaking at the event, the Ogun State Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS), Mr. Felix Agbesanwa, charged the graduating pupils to dream big and remain focused on their academic journey. He also encouraged parents to do all within their capacity to ensure their children receive quality education.

In his goodwill message, the Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, lauded the efforts of the Foundation in shaping future leaders.

The monarch, who was represented by Surveyor Fashina Olajide, urged the management of the schools to sustain their high standards and not relent in their commitment to excellence.

The graduation featured a series of intellectual displays, cultural presentations, and vibrant choreography by the pupils, who were drawn from various graduating classes including kindergarten, primary, JSS 3, and SS3.

The event drew admiration from parents and guests who commended the quality of education and discipline instilled in the pupils.
