The Ogun State Government has donated N200 million to the Borno State Government following the devastating flood that recently ravaged the state, destroying property and displacing thousands of residents.

The flood followed the collapse of the Alau Dam in Maiduguri on September 10.

According to reports, at least 414,000 people have been displaced, and 30 lives lost in the devastating flood.

DAILY POST reports that Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun had earlier sent messages of condolence to the people and government of Borno State, commending the state government for its prompt response alongside interventions from the Federal Government.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade on Saturday said the donation was aimed at assisting the victims of the flood and providing immediate relief.

He pointed out that Borno State was experiencing an unthinkable humanitarian crisis as a result of the flood, and urged all Nigerians to act quickly to help those in need.
