A young man identified as Owate Bode allegedly clubbed her mother to death with a hoe for refusing to accede to his request of N20,000.
The incident occured in Aleto community of Eleme area of Rivers State on Saturday.
A source said that the suspect approached the mother and demanded for the sum of N20,000,00 from her as pocket money to enable him attend an ongoing funeral service within the community.
The source further explained that the
mother pleaded with him that she didn’t have enough money, but offered to give him ten thousand naira (10,000,00) to enable him attend the funeral.
The suspect was said to have refused and insisted he must get the N20,000 and nothing less from the mother.
However, things went out of control as the mother was trying to walked out on his son who was suspected to be on drugs.
The suspect, reportedly picked up a nearby hoe and slammed it on her mother’s head as she was walking out on him, leaving her dead in her pool of blood.
