The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Muslim Alumni (MAPAMA) has felicitated with veteran journalist, Alhaji Ayinde Soaga, on his emergence as the President of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Alumni Association (MAPALUM).

In a congratulatory message dated Wednesday, May 28, 2025, and signed by its National President, Prince Taofeek Oyeniyi, MAPAMA described Soaga’s election as timely and significant, coming at a period when his wealth of professional and leadership experience is most needed.

“Your election, after an illustrious career, stands as a bridge between generations,” Oyeniyi noted. “It offers the older generation honour and fulfilment, while serving as a beacon of hope and aspiration for the younger alumni.”

Soaga, a distinguished broadcast journalist and pioneer graduate of the Mass Communication department of the then Ogun State Polytechnic (now MAPOLY), was elected during the MAPALUM convention held in Abeokuta over the weekend.

Until his retirement, Soaga served as the General Manager of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Katsina, and held several strategic roles at both state and national levels.

His tenure, MAPAMA expressed, is expected to steer the alumni body towards meaningful engagement with the institution and its graduates.

“MAPAMA has grown into an influential alumni network and stakeholder in the MAPOLY community. We look forward to exploring areas of collaboration with your leadership in order to foster our common objectives,” the statement read.

Prince Oyeniyi, on behalf of the global MAPAMA community, extended best wishes and prayers for Soaga’s success, emphasizing the association’s readiness to work closely with MAPALUM under his stewardship.

The statement was issued by Tajudeen Balogun, Head of MAPAMA’s Media and Publicity Committee.
