The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Abeokuta Muslim Alumni Association (MAPAMA) has extended its congratulations to Architect (Dr) Adekoyejo Babatunde Jolaoso on his appointment as the new Rector of the institution.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Head of MAPAMA’s Media and Publicity Committee, Tajudeen Balogun, on Wednesday.
The statement, issued on behalf of the Association’s National President, Prince Taofeek Oyeniyi, lauded Dr. Jolaoso’s appointment, describing it as well-deserved.
“Dr. Jolaoso’s pedigree of focus, versatility, brilliance, diligence, and productivity made his emergence unsurprising.
His impressive academic credentials and extensive experience inspire hope for a positive revolution and a new dawn in the polytechnic, particularly in academic and infrastructural development,” the statement read.
The alumni body expressed confidence that Dr. Jolaoso’s tenure would herald monumental transformations and extended its best wishes for a prosperous and peaceful administration.
Dr. Jolaoso, whose appointment by the MAPOLY Governing Council was ratified by Governor Dapo Abiodun, has since received his letter of appointment.
An alumnus of MAPOLY, Dr. Jolaoso completed his National Diploma (1985) and Higher National Diploma (1988) in Architecture at the institution.
He furthered his education at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Architecture (1988) and a Master’s Degree (1994).
He later obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, in 2018.
Dr. Jolaoso began his career at MAPOLY in September 1994 as a Lecturer III and rose to the rank of Chief Lecturer.
Over the years, he held several administrative positions, including Head of the Architecture Department (2002–2006) and Director of the School of Environmental Studies.
A seasoned academic, Dr. Jolaoso has authored over 70 publications in national and international journals.
He is a member of the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Institute of Architects and serves on the Architect’s Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
Notably, he has participated as an external juror for architectural programs at leading universities such as Covenant University, Ota; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; and the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
MAPAMA pledged its unwavering support to the new Rector, emphasizing its commitment to fostering the institution’s progress under his leadership.
The association also urged stakeholders to collaborate with Dr. Jolaoso to achieve lasting success and development for the polytechnic.
