The management of the Media Trust Group, owners of Daily Trust, Trust TV, Trust Radio and other platforms, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, to strengthen relationship with the emirate.

The Kaduna regional head of the conglomerate, Yusuf Jidda Jama’are, who led the delegation, said the media organisation was known for fair and unbiased reportage and would continue to represent all parts of the society without prejudice.

Jama’are, who conveyed the goodwill of the chairman of the group, Malam Kabir A. Yusuf, assured of their commitment to promoting balanced and unbiased reportage while promoting cultural preservation.

He also pledged to explore the rich traditional heritage of the emirate, with a view to uplifting its cultural potential and supporting the peace and development initiatives of the emirate.

“Media Trust is a leading outfit that represents all the sections of the society. However, we give emphasis to the North, and by extension, the traditional institutions, which are the pillars of the society.

“I want to assure the emir that we will continue to give the emirate the required publicity without prejudice or sentiment as we are committed to national development,” he said.

He appreciated the warm reception accorded the delegation, emphasising the importance of collaboration for mutual development.

In his response, Emir Bamalli expressed appreciation for the visit and called for fair and objective reporting on the activities of the emirate.

“In the past, I was not so happy with the kind of news stories carried by Daily Trust newspapers concerning the emirate. It is like you have not been very fair and objective to us.

“We are not asking you to favour us in your reportage but insist that you always balance your stories and be very objective,” he said.

Bamalli hopes the visit would further strengthen the relationship between the emirate and the media organisation for more fruitful results.

He assured of his readiness to carry the media outfit along in subsequent activities of the emirate.

The management of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), led by Alhaji Bashir Rabe Mani, was also part of the visit.
