The Institute of Medical Store Administrators of Nigeria (IMSAN) has inducted its pioneer members in a ceremony held over the weekend in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The event marked a significant milestone in the professionalization of medical store administration in Nigeria, with key figures emphasizing the importance of ethics, professionalism, and integrity in the field.

In his keynote address, Mr. Akinwunmi Samuel, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of IMSAN, called on the new members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in their roles.

He highlighted the critical role that medical store administrators play in ensuring that healthcare facilities across Nigeria have access to high-quality products and services.

“The establishment of IMSAN is a crucial step toward promoting excellence in medical store management. As professionals, it is our duty to ensure that medical facilities receive only the best quality products, which can significantly impact the health outcomes of our nation,” Samuel stated.

During the induction ceremony, he stressed that members must prioritize ethical conduct and adhere to the rules and regulations set by the institute.

Samuel warned against any form of sharp practices or dereliction of duties, emphasizing that violators would face strict sanctions. “Our institute has been established to foster professionalism.

Any member found engaging in unethical practices will be held accountable, as we will not tolerate any conduct that undermines the integrity of the profession,” he added.

The ceremony also saw the inauguration of the IMSAN National Executive. The newly appointed officers include Omolaran Adenike Mercy as National President, Ahmed Abubakar Sadiq as National Secretary, and Awosola Amos Olusoga as National Financial Secretary/Treasurer.

Additionally, the Lagos State Executive was inaugurated with Mr. Ademola Adelu as Chairman, Mr. Oyatoye Jide as General Secretary, and Mr. Awosola Olusoga continuing his role as Financial Secretary/Treasurer.

The induction ceremony underscores IMSAN’s commitment to fostering a professional environment for medical store administrators, aiming to standardize practices and improve service delivery across the healthcare sector.

The event was attended by stakeholders from various sectors of the healthcare industry, and it set the tone for a new era of medical store administration in Nigeria, where high standards and ethics take center stage.

With the induction of the first batch of members, IMSAN looks forward to expanding its influence and achieving significant milestones in the years to come.
