Dr Aishah Fadila Adamu is a dedicated Ghanaian medical doctor with a passion for health advocacy and community empowerment.
With a background in leadership and medical outreach spanning over six years, Dr Adamu has demonstrated a commitment to crafting
impactful strategies and fostering community engagement to address crucial health issues.
Currently serving as the Founder & President of Health Research Nexus (HeRN), she has spearheaded initiatives aimed at fostering research skills among undergraduates globally.
Under her leadership, HeRN has experienced remarkable growth, with membership increasing by 133% through innovative strategies and targeted outreach efforts.
As a Principal Investigator and Program Manager for the i2clab/UHAS Research Award Program, Dr Adamu has led efforts to improve adolescents’ health literacy in rural Ghana.
Through multimedia interventions, she has successfully engaged with over 1,000 adolescents and their parents across six communities, demonstrating a commitment to innovative approaches in health education.
Beyond the academic and organizational roles, Dr Adamu has contributed significantly to health education outreach initiatives, partnering with organizations such as Marie Stopes and Bold Step Initiative to educate communities on sexual harassment prevention, noncommunicable diseases, and other critical health issues.
She has actively promoted health
initiatives as a Health Officer for the Medical Students Association of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, initiating programs and collaborations to disseminate medical knowledge
and promote public health awareness.
She was a researcher, writer, and editor for FGMSA Chatters, the official news outlet for medical news of the Federation of Ghana Medical Students
Association (FGMSA).
Through various roles and initiatives, Dr Aishah Fadila Adamu embodies a steadfast commitment to promoting health equity and empowering communities through education and
advocacy.
