Melaye Unveils Damning Evidence Of Electoral Irregularities In Kogi  Election

Senator Dino Melaye, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the recent Kogi State governorship election, has come forward with a trove of evidence pointing to alleged electoral misconduct, including mutilation, overvoting, and voter suppression across 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

These shocking claims have sparked controversy and further challenges to the credibility of the election process in Kogi.

In a recent interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Senator Melaye highlighted the evidence he has compiled, emphasizing that the manipulation primarily favoured the All Progressives Congress (APC), which was his main opponent in the election.

Melaye stated, “I have evidence; you will see where PDP’s votes were reduced; results sheets are mutilated. PDP’s votes were reduced and canceled, while those of the APC were increased.”

He argued that the irregularities were so extensive that they significantly impacted the outcome of the election.

The PDP candidate didn’t stop at verbal allegations; he took to social media, specifically his verified Twitter account, to expose the areas where he believes these “scams” were coordinated.

Melaye pointed to five LGAs, which he alleges were particularly affected by electoral misconduct: Okene, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo.

Melaye did not mince words when he said, “INEC must cancel the election in the 5 local governments of Kogi Central.

The election in Okene, Okehi, Ajaokuta, Adavi, and Ogori/Mangogo is a scam coordinated from the highest level of INEC.”

The PDP candidate has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to thoroughly investigate these allegations and take appropriate action.

He emphasized that the integrity of the electoral process and the will of the voters must be protected.
