Minister of Interior Summoned to Aso Rock Amidst Financial Impropriety Allegations

In the wake of mounting allegations of financial improprieties within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, has been summoned to the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock.

Sources at PLATFORM TIMES confirm that Tunji-Ojo is scheduled to meet with the President later this afternoon.

The Minister faces scrutiny over his alleged involvement in financial transactions with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs through a company in which he purportedly holds interests.

The said company reportedly secured a contract worth over N400 million from the Ministry.

The recent suspension of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu, by President Bola Tinubu on Monday, further intensified the spotlight on financial irregularities and mismanagement of public funds within the ministry.

In his defence, Tunji-Ojo appeared on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” last night, acknowledging his founding of the controversial company.

However, he asserted that he resigned as its director in 2019 when he was elected to the House of Representatives.

The nature of Tunji-Ojo’s meeting at Aso Rock remains unconfirmed, and whether it is linked to the ongoing investigation into Betta Edu and his company’s alleged involvement in contract racketeering is yet to be established.
