The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, has described the appointment of Hon. Kayode Oladele as Acting Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) as a well-deserved recognition of excellence, character, and national commitment.
In a personally signed statement made available to PLATFORM TIMES, Salako applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Oladele, whom he praised as a visionary, principled, and transparent public servant with a deep understanding of legal and anti-corruption frameworks.
According to the minister, Oladele’s track record of integrity and service to the nation makes him the right man to lead the commission at a critical time when Nigeria is in dire need of equity and fairness in public appointments and national representation.
“Having proven yourself as a man of vision, integrity, and transparency in previous public offices, and with your vast experience in anti-corruption and the legal profession, I am confident you will record outstanding success in this new role,” Salako stated.
The minister added that Oladele’s wealth of experience, particularly as a former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes and his active role in the fight against corruption, would bring renewed credibility and focus to the operations of the Federal Character Commission.
Salako also offered prayers for divine wisdom and strength for Oladele as he assumes the leadership of the commission, expressing optimism that his tenure would usher in reforms that would strengthen national cohesion and federal inclusiveness.
Oladele, a seasoned lawyer and human rights advocate, is expected to bring fresh direction to the FCC, which plays a strategic role in ensuring equitable representation of Nigeria’s diverse regions in federal institutions.
