After more than a decade as the face of Television Continental’s flagship breakfast talk show Your View, ace broadcaster Morayo Afolabi-Brown has signed off, leaving behind an inspiring legacy of impact, especially among Nigerian women at home and abroad.
Morayo, who anchored the popular programme for 12 years, bowed out on Friday in an emotional farewell episode filled with tributes from colleagues, fans and notable personalities.
Viewers recounted how the show helped shape conversations on politics, social issues and family life.
One fan from the United Kingdom said watching the programme kept her connected to home and helped her cope with loneliness after relocating abroad, describing Morayo as “a source of comfort and strength.”
Reflecting on her exit, Morayo said her first step would be to “rest and hibernate” before unveiling her next professional move.
“This assignment on Your View is now complete. My first step is to rest before embarking on my next venture.
The show has given many women a voice and inspired other similar programmes. I am deeply grateful to everyone I met through this journey,” she said.
TVC Communications, in a statement, confirmed her departure, noting that the broadcaster would be pursuing a long-held passion project. The media organisation described her as “a central figure in the success of Your View,” assuring fans that the programme would retain its quality despite her exit.
Since its debut, Your View has become a household name, breaking boundaries with its engaging discussions and women-led perspectives on national issues.
Under Morayo’s leadership, it provided a platform for diverse voices and influenced the creation of similar talk shows in Nigeria’s broadcast industry.
As she bows out, Morayo leaves an imprint that redefined daytime television and inspired many women to embrace bold conversations.
