The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has set the official Hajj fare for 2025, with varying costs depending on the region of origin.
Intending pilgrims from the Southern States will pay N8.7 million, while those from Borno and Adamawa will pay N8.3 million.
Pilgrims from the Northern Zone are expected to pay N8.4 million for the upcoming pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Professor Abdullahi Usman, NAHCON’s Executive Chairman, revealed the fare in a statement issued by the Commission’s Assistant Director for Information and Publication, Fatima Usara, on Monday in Abuja.
The announcement follows the approval of the fare by the Office of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Professor Usman highlighted that the Hajj fare was the result of collaborative efforts among various stakeholders, including the presidency and the Forum of Executive Secretaries of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies, and Commissions.
He also commended the leadership of Malam Ameen Amshi, Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties, for his role in ensuring that the fare remains consistent with previous years.
“This modest effort on the fare was reached after extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity in this important decision-making process,” said Professor Usman.
The full breakdown of the 2025 Hajj fare is as follows: intending pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa zones will pay N8,327,125.59; those from the Southern states will pay N8,784,085.59; while those from the Northern zone will pay N8,457,685.59.
The Chairman urged prospective pilgrims to take note of important timelines and the Saudi guidelines and emphasized the importance of early payment and timely registration to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
For further details and the complete breakdown of the fare, NAHCON has advised intending pilgrims to visit their website at nahcon.gov.ng or contact their respective States’ Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards.
