The management of the Polytechnic Ibadan has received the accreditation team from the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) for the accreditation of 10 newly programmes introduced by the institution.
The accreditation team was led by Director of Polytechnic Programme NBTE Kaduna, Arch. Ngbede Ogor, representative of NBTE Zonal Director, Dr John Onyebuchi and other resource persons from different institutions, NBTE and professional bodies.
The NBTE team was officially received on Wednesday by the management of the polytechnic led by the rector Professor Kazeem Adebiyi at the CIBN hall.
Adebiyi revealed that the freshly introduced courses were put in place in a bid to develop the education and skill acquisition scheme in the polytechnic curriculum.
His words “We realize that there is need for us to move with the trend of development in the technical education and skill acquisition and that is why we are expanding with the fresh courses.
“We have made adequate preparation for the programme and I believe by the time you are done you will appreciate and give good recommendations about all our new programmes for proper accreditation” he added.
Making remarks on the accreditation, Ogor mentioned that the institution has stood a test of time having been established about 53years ago saying “from what we have seen so far, one can convincingly say old wine tastes better.”
He commended the Adebiyi-led administration for desiring the growth and expansion of the institution.
He urged the academic staff members to make themselves available and corperate with the accreditation team in it’s respective departments.
