Babafemi said that the fake security agent was arrested by the NDLEA officers on Thursday, June 22.

Babafemi stated that the anti-narcotics officers also nabbed a 42-year-old man, Segun Olajide, with 49.2kg of cannabis on Saturday, June 24, in Oyo town, Oyo State.

He added that two suspects – Abubakar Mohammed, 32, and Nuhu Sale, 43 – were arrested along the Abuja expressway in Suleja, Niger State, with 31 jumbo bags of skunk weighing 517kg.

The NDLEA spokesperson noted that a 30-year-old man, Amina Alilu, was equally arrested with 171kg of the substance at Ogbogodo village, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State on Wednesday, June 21.

Babafemi disclose that the NDLEA operatives, in the early hours of Monday, June 19, stormed Ekudo forest in Uhunmwode LGA of Edo State, where they destroyed a cannabis farm measuring 2.494863 hectares and recovered processed weeds weighing 67kg.

He added that six suspects – Onyeka Onyedinma, Monday Onyedi, Alex Eboh, Edosa Imariagbe, Godbless Tunde, and Godstime Osarobo – during the operation.

Reacting, the NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Retd), charged the anti-narcotics officers and their compatriots across other formations to remain committed to the corporate goal of ridding Nigeria of the menace of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking.
