The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says, its operatives in Adamawa have intercepted 118 cartoons of Indomie Noodles packs used to conceal 544 blocks of compressed cannabis sativa, weighing 408kg, and meant for distribution in the state.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the hard drug was seized after the NDLEA operatives intercepted a Toyota Hilux vehicle marked EPE 863 XD along Ngurore-Mayo Belwa Road, Adamawa State, on Wednesday.

The NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, disclosed this via a statement issued on Sunday.

Babafemi said a search of the vehicle with two occupants – Kelvin Efe, 51, and Christian Ogaga, 42 – showed that the Indomie Noodles packs were used to conceal the compressed cannabis for distribution in the Yola and Mubi areas of Adamawa State and Gombe State.

Babafemi added that the NDLEA operatives, on Saturday, July 1, arrested a suspect, Segun Odeyemi, conveying 89 jumbo bags of skunk with a total weight of 3,842kg in his truck around the Eleganza area of Ajah, Lekki, Lagos State.

He noted that an abandoned J5 Peugeot bus marked AAA 521 SQ with bags of pepper used to conceal 25 bags of cannabis sativa weighing 300.5kg was also recovered along the Akure-Ilesa expressway in Osun State after its occupants sighted NDLEA officers on patrol on Friday, July 7.
