A prominent group of Muslim professionals under the aegis of No Dull Moment in Islam (NDMI) has commended the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, for what it described as his “uncommon leadership” in the wake of the recently reported hiccup during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a public statement jointly signed by the group’s Coordinator, Prof. AbdulRazaq Kilani, and Secretary, Prof. AbdulRazaq Adebowale, NDMI hailed Prof.
Oloyede for displaying remarkable integrity and accountability in addressing the situation, describing his conduct as “a challenge to the standard of leadership this nation needs.”
The group noted that the manner in which Prof. Oloyede took responsibility for the shortcomings in the conduct of the UTME exemplified transparency, inclusiveness, and moral uprightness.
“Your ability to admit mistakes and retrace steps when necessary is the hallmark of true leadership,” the statement read in part.
NDMI further praised the JAMB boss for his consistency in upholding Islamic values in public service, describing him as “a worthy ambassador of Islam” whose character continues to inspire trust among Nigerians.
“All members of the NDMI group and indeed all lovers of integrity stand with you during this trying time,” the group said, praying that Allah grants Prof.
“Oloyede continued wisdom and divine guidance in steering the affairs of JAMB and in any future national assignment.
Prof. Oloyede, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, has earned a reputation for reforming the operations of JAMB since his appointment, especially through the introduction of technological innovations and transparency measures.
