Dr. Dayo Israel, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board of Hospital Management at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba, Abeokuta, has outlined ambitious plans to elevate the institution to international standards.
Dr. Israel expressed his vision during a meeting in Lagos where he received congratulations from the Medical Director, Prof. Adewale Musa-Olomu, on behalf of the Centre.
Formerly the National Youth Leader and a member of the APC’s National Working Committee, Dr. Israel emphasized his commitment to transforming FMC Abeokuta into a “world-class institution” that attracts global recognition for its healthcare services.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to make a significant impact in Abeokuta,” Dr. Israel remarked, highlighting his intent to collaborate closely with the Centre’s management to achieve an “A+” rating.
“Our goal is not just to talk but to act decisively,” he added, stressing the importance of concrete actions to match their aspirations.
Acknowledging his familiarity with Abeokuta, Dr. Israel praised Prof. Musa-Olomu’s leadership and the Centre’s current achievements.
“I have a personal connection to Abeokuta, having been educated at Lisabi Grammar School,” he noted, describing his appointment as a homecoming of sorts.
In a show of confidence, Dr. Israel commended the Centre’s spokesperson for their exceptional work, underscoring his appreciation for the institution’s accomplishments under the current administration.
Earlier in the day, the Centre’s Director of Administration, Mr. E.K Apanisile, accompanied by Dr. Segun Orisajo, Head of Information and Public Relations, and Mr. Peter Wonah, Personal Assistant to the Medical Director, presented the official Letter of Congratulations to Dr. Israel.
