    Niger Humanitarian Affairs Ministry confirms 13 killed by bandits in shiroro LGA

    At least 13 people have been confirmed dead with several others injured in attacks launched by bandits on Bassa and Anguwan Magiro communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.

    The was disclosed in a statement signed by Director Media and Strategy, Niger State Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Habibu Wushishi, and made available to DAILY POST in Minna.

    The statement stated that the bandits wrecked havoc on Bassa and Anguwan Magiro communities, destroying shops and leaving the entire farming villages in disarray.

    “Over 12 neighbouring villages are currently in Erena IDPs camp with their numbers yet to be ascertained,” the statement said.




    Wushishi said there was o report of abduction in the attack.

    “The Commissioner and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management extends their heartfelt condolences to families of the victims, Shiroro Local Government and entire Nigetlites,” the statement added. .

    DAILY POST reports that hundreds of villagers of Allawa and adjourning villages in Shiroro LGA fled their homes on April 25, 2024.

    The attack occurred after the soldiers stationed in the community were withdrawn, a development which led to an increase in the level of insecurity in the area.
