As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary Bauchi Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed has reassured the residents of the state that ongoing palliative measures to address the current economic hardship will continue.

The governor, in his Independence Day message issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, assured the citizens of continued support.

He commended them for their perseverance during the challenging economic times while acknowledging the hardships many are enduring.

The governor said both the Bauchi State and the Federal Government were committed to providing ongoing relief through the distribution of food and essential non-food items.

This is as he called for patience and cooperation, urging citizens to continue working with the government as it strives to alleviate the hardship.

“I commend you all for your perseverance in the face of the current economic hardship that has made life unbearable.

“The palliative measures taken by both the State and Federal Governments to mitigate the hardship will be sustained,” the governor said.

He also reassured the people of Bauchi of his government’s commitment to security

According to him, his administration had prioritised security, working closely with security agencies to safeguard lives and property in the state.

“Security would continue to be top on our priority so that the relative peace being enjoyed in the state is sustained,” he stated, reaffirming that any potential threats to peace and safety would be swiftly addressed.

Governor Mohammed closed his address by urging citizens to remain patriotic, dedicated to Nigeria’s development, and to pray for continued peace and progress.
