In a recent interview on the ‘With Chude’ podcast with media personality Chude Jideownwo, Nigerian actor Chinedu Ikedieze, popularly known as Aki, opened up about the challenges he has faced due to his movie roles affecting how he is perceived.

Ikedieze disclosed that his portrayal of mischievous characters in movies has led to a common misconception that he is uneducated.

However, he asserted that this perception is far from the truth. He shared that he has indeed pursued an education, contrary to the image his roles might project.

During the interview, he shed light on his upbringing, revealing that his mother was instrumental in ensuring he received a formal education.

He pointed out that his stunted growth, a condition he dealt with, led his mother to discourage him from pursuing career paths that involved manual labor.

This guidance prevented him from considering roles such as a carpenter or bricklayer.

“My mother told me that I have to go to school and study hard to become successful because I cannot become a carpenter or a bricklayer because of my stunted growth,” Ikedieze stated, reflecting on his mother’s advice.

Chinedu Ikedieze’s determination to receive an education paid off.

He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in theater arts and a degree in Mass Communication from the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu.

Over the course of his impressive career spanning two decades, he has acted in more than 150 films.

Early in his acting journey, his stature and physical appearance often led him to be cast in roles as a child.

Despite these challenges, he persevered and carved out a successful path in the entertainment industry.

With his candid revelations, Chinedu Ikedieze sheds light on the realities behind the roles he portrays on screen and emphasizes the importance of not judging based on appearances alone.
