The Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy have pledged to strengthen their collaboration and unite forces within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility.

During a recent diplomatic exchange, Rear Admiral Muhammad Abdullahi, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) of the Western Naval Command in Lagos, paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Abdulahi said the visit  underscored the determination of both military entities to work in tandem to ensure peace and security.

Major General Muhammed Usman, the General Officer Commanding the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, extended his gratitude for the already-existing harmonious relationship between the two forces.

He emphasized the paramount importance of transparent communication and cooperation as cornerstones for fostering a deeper understanding between the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy.

Rear Admiral Abdullahi, underlining the gravity of joint operations, took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to General Usman on his recent appointment as the 24th GOC of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army.

The FOC underscored the necessity for collaborative efforts across all branches of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, emphasizing that success cannot be achieved in isolation.

General Usman further revealed that Lieutenant General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has consistently advocated for professionalism during joint operations.

Commending the Nigerian Army for maintaining and augmenting its affiliations with sister services and other security agencies, General Usman reiterated the commitment to these relationships in the best interests of the nation.

This strategic partnership between the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy marks a pivotal step towards ensuring the safety and stability of the nation, highlighting the proactive measures being taken to strengthen the defense forces and fortify the nation’s security infrastructure.
