    Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat is dead

    A popular Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso, is dead.

    Her death was confirmed by Ilorin-based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh, via his official Facebook page on Tuesday morning.

    Jubril Aawat, a media aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, also posted a terse tweet on X, saying “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return. Q 2 V 156.”

    Rukayat was well-known for her captivating voice, which resonated with many in the Muslim community.




    Further details surrounding her death are yet to be fully disclosed.
