Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), made a bold statement on Tuesday, asserting that he could restore peace in the South East region within two minutes if released from prison.
Speaking after being denied bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, Kanu expressed suspicion that certain individuals within the government were complicit in the insecurity plaguing the South East, alleging they were profiting from the turmoil.
Kanu firmly stated that the ongoing insecurity would cease if he were freed, asserting his ability to swiftly bring peace to the region.
He warned that anyone engaging in violence under the guise of IPOB would be swiftly dealt with once he was released.
“I suspect that some people in government are complicit. They are making money with this insecurity.
“They know if Nnamdi Kanu is outside, in two minutes, this nonsense will stop.
“Anybody involved in any form of violence in the South-East in the name of IPOB, let me come out of this nonsense, this mess, only two minutes, I guarantee you, and there will be peace in the South-East,” Kanu declared.
