The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Retail Limited has dismissed a pump attendant and suspended a station manager after an alleged attempt to cheat a customer at one of its outlets in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The company said the disciplinary action followed an internal investigation triggered by a viral social media video showing the pump attendant’s suspicious conduct.
In a statement on Friday, NNPC Retail described the act as “completely unacceptable” and a violation of its core values of integrity, transparency, and premium customer service.
“As part of our sanction policy, we have terminated the employment of the pump attendant, suspended the station manager, and issued a formal warning to the dealer in charge of the station,” the statement read.
The company commended members of the public for exposing the misconduct and urged customers to promptly report similar incidents through its official customer service channels displayed at all NNPC outlets.
NNPC Retail reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on unethical practices, stressing that it would continue to protect customers from fraudulent activities at its stations nationwide.
