NPFL: Akwa United will come good again – Windy

Akwa United assistant coach, Abasiakan Windy believes the team’s struggle in the Nigeria Premier Football League is a temporary setback.

Windy assured that the Promise Keepers will get back to winning ways soon.

The Mohammed Babaganaru’s side suffered their second successive defeat in four days going down to a loss 1-0 to Enyimba in a rescheduled matchday three fixture in Aba on Wednesday.

Akwa United are winless in the NPFL season.

“We came to Aba to fight for maximum points, but the result is not what we expected,” Windy said in a post-match interview.

“We knew it was going to be a tough match and we prepared well for it. Despite the fact that we didn’t get the result we wanted, I must commend my players for putting up a good fight.

“Don’t forget, the league is a marathon and what we are passing through at the moment is just a temporary setback and it’s even better that it’s happening now and that will give us ample time to adjust.

“We strongly believe that we will come out of this struggle soon enough “.

Akwa United will next make a short trip to Port Harcourt to face Rivers United on Sunday.
