NPFL: Rangers chief, Ezeaku appeals for fans support after team’s slow start

Rangers chairman, Amobi Ezeaku has pleaded with supporters of the club to be patient with the ongoing rebuilding process.

Ezeaku said that the management of the Flying Antelopes is building a strong foundation that will aid consistent growth of the club.

Rangers started their 2024-25 campaign with a goalless draw against El-Kanemi Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Saturday.

“Trusting the process and building with patience is essential for creating a sustainable future for Rangers,” Ezeaku wrote on his X account.

“Both on and off the pitch. Success in football isn’t just about short-term victories; it’s about laying a strong foundation that can support consistent growth over time.

“On the pitch, this means developing a solid youth academy, nurturing local talent, and creating a culture of hard work and resilience. Investing in the right coaching staff, scouting network, and facilities will yield long-term benefits, even if the results aren’t immediate. Patience here allows for the development of a playing style and identity that can become a hallmark of the club.

“Off the pitch, building sustainable success involves establishing strong financial management, securing lasting partnerships, and expanding the club’s reach in the community.

“By focusing on these areas, Rangers can ensure that the club is financially stable and continues to grow its fan base. Initiatives like the Rangers Foundation and Academicals are perfect examples of long-term investments that will pay dividends both in community engagement and player development.

“The key is to maintain a balance between immediate needs and long-term goals, always remembering that lasting success is built step by step.

“This approach will not only create a winning team but also a club that remains a pillar of excellence for years to come.”
