The Ogun State council of the  Nigeria Union of Journalists, the state chapter of the  National Institute of Public Relations and many others have announced a day of tributes to pay the  last respect  to the esteemed academic, erudite media and communication scholar, Professor Lai Oso.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that families and friends of the deceased are set to organise the event at the OGD Hall, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta on Wednesday,

The Chairman  of the organising Committee, Prof. Dele Odunlami, made this known on Saturday, in a statement circulated  to Journalists.

In the statement, he said the event was in collaboration with tertiary institutions in Ogun State that offer Mass Communication programs.

He added that prominent media organisations including the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Ogun State Television (OGTV), the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Alumni, friends, associates of the deceased, and the Victory Life Bible Church, where the deceased served as a pastor, have united to support this tribute day.

In his words, the day of tribute will feature a diverse range of activities aimed at celebrating the life and legacy of the late scholar, assuring attendees of captivating musical performances that encapsulate Prof. Oso’s impactful journey, and various other engaging segments.

He therefore urged attendees to join the event to honor the life and significant achievements of this exceptional media scholar

The late Prof. Lai Oso tragically passed away on Saturday, June 24, in a devastating motor accident, while returning from a trip to Delta State University, Abraka, where he was examining some PhD students at the time.
