    Obafemi/Owode LG Chair Celebrates 2nd Anniversary, Lines Up Achievements

    The  Chairman of Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Adesina Ogunsola has celebrated his administration’s two-year anniversary as he lined up some of his achievements.

    Ogunsola, alongside other colleagues was Inaugurated as the chairman of the council on July 26, 2023 by the governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun.

    Speaking at a press conference on his stewardship to the people of the council in the last two years, Ogunsola said he decided to hold two years anniversary, so as to give account to the people of the council.

    The council boss explained that there are five reasons for the celebration which he said were ; appreciating God, presenting the score cards, identifying other areas that need his attention, getting feedbacks from the people and recognising the contributions of the people.

    While highlighting the projects so far executed for the people of the council’s wellbeing, he said his administration has been tackling challenges facing the people on water by sinking boreholes in various places.

    Ogunsola added that a lot of renovations, constructions, installations and purchase of equipment to create an enabling environment.

    According to Ogunsola, within the last two years of his administration, he has been able to facilitate agricultural development which include Ogun cares Agric programme.

    He also disclosed that staff welfare through regular payment of disturbance allowance, regular support for the Nigeria Labour Congress among others.

    On Community Development, Ogunsola stated that his administration has been providing supports for Community Development Council and Community Development Associations activities and as well as hosting of annual Lisabi Festival celebration among others.

    The council’s boss also shared his activities on educational development which include ; construction of blocks of class rooms, distributions of writing materials to pupils in schools under the Obafemi-Owode local government area of the state.

    On his activities on health and medical sector, Ogunsola disclosed that his administration has renovated some health facilities and provided consultant support for mobile health clinic in villages and towns in the council.

    The council at the press briefing presented a comprehensive overview of his administration’s accomplishments.

    He emphasized the importance of being accountable to the masses and providing a transparent government that serves the needs of the people.

    He however, requested feedback from the community on areas that need attention while gathering feedback from critical stakeholders.

    He also recognized and appreciated individuals who have contributed significantly to his administration’s achievements.

    He also explained the administration’s efforts to align with the mission agenda of “Building Our Future Together,” championed by the governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun.

    Ogunsola said all the achievements were accomplished within the constraints of limited financial resources, saying, his administration remained free of debt to contractors or banks.
