Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has urged the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to display the spirit of hostmanship so as to attract foreign investors into the country.
Obasanjo said this on Monday when the Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Ogun State Command paid him a visit at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Penthouse residence, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
“Immigration should be friendly to both citizens and foreigners”. These attitudes can influence policymakers, and settling into a supportive or rather more hostile environment makes a difference in immigrants’ adjustment and mental health.
“Immigration should ensure cordial relationships with other agencies in terms of collaboration”, Obasanjo concluded.
The State Comptroller of Immigration, Olufunmilayo Bosede commended the Former President for supporting the agency and advocacy as remarkable peacebuilding work.
She also thanked Obasanjo for his fatherly role and for his elder stateman figure and therefore promised to stand to her toe and take the agency to the next level.
