#Ogun2023Election: Abiodun, Adebutu In Tight Race As Party Agents Clash Over Call For Rerun

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Dapo Abiodun, and his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party, Ladi Adebutu, are shoulder in tight race for the governorship seat.

PLATFORMTIMES observed a keen contest from results declared of 15 local government areas in Ogun State declared so far.

While Abiodun won in eight local government areas, Adebutu won in seven councils out of the 15 councils declared so far.

The APC won in Odeda, Egbado-North, Egbado-South, Ewekoro, Ijebu-North, Ijebu-Ode, Ipokia and Abeokuta-North.

The PDP won in Abeokuta-South, Ogunwaterside, Ijebu-North/East, Ikenne, Ijebu-East, Remo-North and Odogbolu

Meanwhile, the PDP state collation agent, Sunkanmi Oyejide has called for rerun in some polling units where elections were cancelled.

Oyejide who reacted to huge number of poling units in Ikenne , Ogunwaterside and Remo-North due to non function of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System machines and violence .

His counterpart, the APC state collation agent, Yemi Adelani however disagreed with him, saying, it was not necessary .

Adelani said the collation officer was right to have cancelled the votes due to the reasons given .

The results of election in 15 local government areas declared
