The Chairman of the Ogun Initiative Agenda,Dr. Abayomi Arabambi, has sounded a clarion call for political awakening and unity amidst what he describes as the marginalization and neglect of Egba land.

Arabambi in an open letter addressed to the people of Ogun Central Senatorial District, acussed the state governor, Dapo Abiodun of neglecting Ogun central in the scheme of things.

Arabambi while highlighting historical grievances and recent disparities in infrastructural development and economic opportunities, argued that Ogun Central, particularly the Egba people, have been relegated to a “third class” status within the state.

This, he asserts, stands in stark contrast to the favorable conditions enjoyed by Ogun East and Ogun West.

“The time is now for all Egba true Sons and daughters to wake up from their perpetual slumber and return our dear region back to glory,” the letter reads, emphasizing the need for a concerted effort to reclaim political influence ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial elections.

Arabambi further criticizes what he perceives as deliberate political marginalization, citing the dominant influence of leaders from Ogun East and the rapid developmental strides of Ogun West under Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI.

He points out that Egba land, despite its historical significance, has not received commensurate attention in terms of federal employment, industrial development, and crucial infrastructural projects.

“Our gentility should not be mistaken for cowardice. We will no longer tolerate being overlooked or disregarded,” the letter asserts boldly.
The Chairman of the Ogun Initiative Agenda predicts a significant political shift in the upcoming elections, promising that those who have perpetuated the neglect of Egba interests will face a resolute and united front.

He calls for unity among Egba people and vows that any attempt at intimidation will be met with resounding political defeat.

Arabambi urges Egba stakeholders to engage actively with the political process and demand equitable treatment for their region. He signs off with a rallying cry: “Egba Oni Gba Gba ikugba” (Egba will surely rise again).
