A prominent non-governmental organisation, the IBA Foundation, has declared its support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, to contest the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.

The Foundation, in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, described Senator Yayi as a visionary leader whose developmental strides across critical sectors have positioned him as the most suitable candidate to lead the state.

Signed by the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Hon. Ibrahim Abiodun Jinadu, the statement noted that Yayi’s achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and security in Ogun West Senatorial District have won him widespread admiration.

Jinadu argued that Senator Yayi’s record aligns with the core mission of the Foundation, especially in human capital development, which he said has the potential to liberate communities across the state.

“The IBA Foundation believes that it is time for Ogun West to produce the next governor of the state, given that the region has not produced a governor since the state was created in 1976,” the statement read.

“We are calling on the people of Ogun West to unite and speak with one voice in demanding their rightful place in the leadership of the state.”

While appealing to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political stakeholders to zone the 2027 governorship ticket to Ogun West, Jinadu described Yayi as a leader with the capacity to deliver transformative change.

“Senator Yayi possesses the leadership qualities, vision, and passion needed to move Ogun State forward. His emergence as governor will undoubtedly bring about rapid development and progress across the state,” he said.

The Foundation also called on residents of the state to “join the moving train” by supporting Yayi’s aspiration, noting that the lawmaker’s past interventions have positively impacted thousands of lives in Abeokuta and other parts of the state through empowerment programmes and scholarship schemes.
