The Ogun state unit of the Western Nigeria Security Network codenamed Amotekun has announced the arrest of four persons for separate crimes, including armed robbery, bestiality, and impersonation.
The Commander of Amotekun in Ogun, CP David Akinremi announced the arrests in a statement issued on Monday.
The corps arrested two armed robbers for snatching a motorcycle from a rider in the Imeko-Afon part of the State.
Akinremi revealed that the suspects, Obatoki Soqid, 32; and Sanni Ismaila, 37, were arrested based on a complaint lodged by the victim, Moris Alofa who lives in Opete village via Ayetoro area of the State.
The duo allegedly snatched the bike along Owode Afon road, while the victim was conveying one of them to a nearby village.
“According to the suspect, three days after, they negotiated the sale of the motorcycle with two buyers now at large who bought the motorcycle for two hundred thousand naira (N200,000.00) and the proceeds shared by them. Efforts to apprehend the two run-away suspects are still ongoing,” the Commander added.
The Corps also arrested one Ibrahim Ismaila, 18, over alleged bestiality. He allegedly had carnal knowledge of a goat.
CP Akinremi disclosed that a resident caught the 18-year-old in the act at Ilu- Tuntun Olorunsogo, Ajowa, in Ifo Local Government Area of the State.
He said, “On the day in question, one Jimoh Opeyemi (m) of Ilu-Tuntun Olorunsogo was going to a building site where he works as an iron-bender when he saw the suspect having canal knowledge of a she-goat.
“He immediately stopped to have a clear view of the scene and subsequently raised alarm which attracted people around the area including an operative of Amotekun Corps on neighbourhood patrol. Hence the arrest of the suspect.”
Also, one Raimi Yussuf, impersonating as a staff of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, was arrested by the Amotekun Corps for allegedly defrauding some residents of the state.
The 40-year-old man was accused of defrauding the residents to the tune of one million naira, in the guise that he could help them procure electric meters and poles.
