The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, has lauded the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, describing her as a beacon of selfless service and a passionate advocate for women empowerment and child protection.

Adeleye gave the commendation during a special event held at the Juvenile Correctional Centre, Asero, to celebrate Mrs. Abiodun’s birthday. She said the First Lady’s choice to mark her birthday with children in the correctional centre demonstrated her deep concern for the most vulnerable members of society.

“Your Excellency, your life transcends ceremonial titles. Through the Ajose Foundation and your unwavering support for our Ministry, you have redefined advocacy as a daily act of touching lives, restoring hope, and building communities,” Adeleye said.

She highlighted Mrs. Abiodun’s numerous initiatives aimed at empowering women, educating the girl-child, and championing social welfare as tangible evidence of her impact across the state.

Other dignitaries at the event, including the Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Ajayi Bolanle; Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade, Mrs. Oluwayemisi Dawodu; her counterpart in the Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Lawal Olanbiwoninu; and the Permanent Secretary, Hospital Management Board, Dr. Olayinka Elemide, also praised the First Lady’s consistent support for government policies geared towards uplifting women and protecting children.

They commended her commitment to giving priority to the welfare of people with special needs and urged the children at the correctional centre to pursue their dreams with confidence, assuring them of the government’s continued support.

In her response, Mrs. Abiodun expressed appreciation to the dignitaries for their goodwill messages and reaffirmed her dedication to advocating for policies that would amplify the voices of women and children.

“I remain committed to initiatives that will promote equity, empower women, and protect the rights of children, particularly those with special needs,” she said.

The event featured the donation of food items and various gifts to the Juvenile Correctional Centre by the First Lady as part of her birthday celebration.
