Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has unveiled a comprehensive plan by appointing Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele to head a 29-member Central Working Committee (CWC).

This committee has been established to oversee the distribution of crucial palliatives throughout the state.

Governor Abiodun’s decision to entrust the deputy governor with this pivotal role reflects the administration’s commitment to making sure that the palliatives effectively reach every corner of the state. The Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, conveyed that the government is taking a multi-pronged approach, involving a corresponding committee at the local government level.

This strategy is designed to facilitate the smooth and efficient distribution of palliatives.

With a mandate to execute various state-sponsored palliative measures, the CWC comprises members carefully selected from all 20 Local Government Areas of Ogun State. Among the distinguished members are former Deputy Governor Salmot Badru, Senator Shuaib Afolabi, Hon. Dewunmi Onanuga, Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, Deputy Speaker Hon. Latifat Ajayi, and Minority Leader Hon. Lukman Adeleye, along with a host of other respected individuals.

Furthermore, the local government-level committee will include council chairpersons, State House of Assembly members, the House Leader, local government secretaries, former Local Government Officers (GLOs), representatives from community development associations (CDAs), market women associations, non-governmental organizations, and traditional rulers. This collaborative approach seeks to ensure the inclusivity and effectiveness of the palliative distribution process.

The inaugural meeting of the committee is scheduled for August 30, 2023, signifying the proactive stance of the government in swiftly addressing the needs of the people during these trying times.

The efforts put forth by Governor Abiodun’s administration, spearheaded by Deputy Governor Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, underscore the commitment to providing relief and support to every citizen of Ogun State.
