In a developing story, Wale Adedayo, the former Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, has once again been taken into custody by Ogun State Police.

This latest arrest comes in the wake of allegations made by Adedayo against Governor Dapo Abiodun of diverting funds and local government interventions over the past three years.

Adedayo, who had previously been suspended and impeached by local government lawmakers, announced his arrest on social media, declaring his readiness to face the consequences.

Adedayo revealed his arrest by the police via a Facebook post on his timeline, adding that he is ready to die.

Adedayo wrote, “Son of man is being taken to Ogun State Police CID at Eleweran, Abeokuta. They claim the State Government wrote a petition against me.

“If it is death, I follow the path of the Patriarchs. Ase di owo Olodumare!”

Adedayo’s troubles began after he accused the governor of misappropriating funds meant for local governments in the state.

He had also written to former governor and APC national leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, claiming that local governments were operating on zero allocation.

Furthermore, he filed complaints with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

As this situation unfolds, we await official statements from both the state government and the police.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, SP Omolola Odutola, said she wasn’t aware of the arrest, promising to get back as soon as she is briefed.
