The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, Ogun state chapter has celebrated the director of the body, Professor Ishaq Akintola on the occasion of his retirement, as a lecturer, from the Lagos State University, LASU, and his 70th birthday.
The Muslim group, in a press statement, signed by its chairman, Jimoh Alao and it’s secretary, Olaleye Damilare, on Friday, expressed their warmest wishes and appreciation for Professor Akintola’s contributions to academia and his relentless advocacy for Muslim rights.
Prof Akintola, who is the director of MURIC, has been described asĀ a dedicated advocate for the rights of Muslims, championing the fight against discrimination and injustice.
According to the group, his unwavering commitment to education and the betterment of society has left an indelible impact on countless individuals in Nigeria and beyond.
It stated, “your contributions to the academic community and the Muslim community in Nigeria have been remarkable. As the Director of the Muslim Rights Concern, you have been a steadfast advocate for the rights of Muslims and an unwavering voice in the fight against discrimination and injustice.
“Your dedication to education and your commitment to the betterment of society have left a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals in Nigeria and beyond.
“Your legacy will continue to inspire future generations to strive for excellence and to make a positive difference in the world.”
In the same vein, the group commended him for his exceptional efforts and invaluable contributions to the successful outcome of the recent presidential election in Nigeria, acknowledging his leadership and organizational skills, which, they claimed, played a pivotal role in uniting Muslims and galvanizing support for President Bola Ahmad Tinubu.
They also emphasized his tireless advocacy for the rights and welfare of Muslims, which, according to them has strengthened the collective voice and influence of the Muslim community in Nigeria’s political arena.
They therefore prayed for Allah’s blessings upon him and his family, acknowledging him as the “Jagaban of Justice against injustice.”
